Apologies
A
very personal word from me February 2009 To any one who knows
me!
Due
to the many reactions I have had in the last year or two, about
some of the things I have said to some people, or written to,
or written about, I feel that it is now imperative for me to write
this.
Who
was it that said “I am who I am”! In my case I am
Clive Compion. Born in Zimbabwe, educated in South Africa, and
around the rest of the world. I now live in the South West of
France. This is not so important, what is important, is what I
have said to some people, and what I have written. It seems that
some people were, or are, offended, some hurt, some insulted,
and some confused. So I will try to explain. I sometimes say things
to provoke people, The one and only reason I want to provoke people,
is because I want to change things for the better. I want a better
world for every one, for the future, and for future generations.
I get so frustrated sometimes, when I look around me, and see
all the problems of the world. Wars, Poverty, injustice, apathy,
indifference and the list goes on, selfish, greedy, uncaring and
corrupt people! I want to change this, I want for all of us to
be better and better. It is just my nature and character to react
like this. I know many of my friend’s feel the same way
but they feel they cannot do much, and do not react like me. I
cannot be silent! and do not want to be silent, and so I shout
from the rooftops. I so much want to see every one happy, content,
satisfied, prosperous, healthy, intelligent, (meaning not ignorant)
and truly free.
When I discuss with some people, and hear, anti Semite remarks,
or racist or discriminatory remarks, I go mad. When I see people
abusing or using or belittling other people, I always feel obliged
to react. And that is when I start to “talk” to provoke
people, it is not because I want to challenge peoples intellect,
or look for a debate to show them down, of upset them, all I want
is for each and every one of us, is to be able to stop and think,
before we do, and say, some of the things we do and say. If only
we could live in true peace and harmony, not hurting and judging
people, but rather encouraging, uplifting, helping, accepting,
forgiving, building, and loving each other.
Remember
I grew up in Colonial Africa, where I saw raciest injustice and
war, since the day I was born. I then moved to South Africa during
the peak of the Apartheid area, and there I saw injustice in its
truest form. It was from this background that I began to write
and talk, and seek to understand why people are the way they are,
and why they do the things they do. I once knew a woman who worked
with me, whose husband beat her, and she stayed with him. This
went on and on for years, and I could not understand why she stayed
with him. I had to talk out against this kind of atrocity, and
so I began my “quest;” to talk to people, to provoke
responses and reactions, from those whom I came across. I have
been arrested in South Africa and beaten because I could not,
would not be silent against the horrors of apartheid. I have been
thrown out of meetings, lost bonds with so called friends, and
have even made enemies with some folk, who do not understand where
I am coming from. I never want to insult or hurt or humiliate
any one. I desire only true Liberty, Equality, Fraternity, Justice,
Peace and Love for all men and woman everywhere.
So if you are one of those people who may have been offended,
hurt, humiliated or confused by what I have had to say, I ask
of you please try to understand it was not, and is not, my intention
to offend, hurt, insult, or be pretentious or superior. When I
wrote about Ignorance I received a lot of feedback by people saying
that I was pretentious, high and mighty, superior, because I thought
that I was more enlightened and superior in knowledge and less
ignorant than others. This is not the case at all, I too am a
victim of ignorance, and suffer from it as well, I only strive
to be less ignorant, by taking time to try and understand things,
I question everything, to try and work things out. This takes
time, and study, soul searching, and effort, to find enlightenment,
to “know” to understand the claim of Him who said
“I am the way, I am the Truth, I am the Life”. Understanding
and knowing what is TURTH is very difficult in this day and age.
We are bombarded, confounded, indoctrinated, brainwashed, and
manipulated by the media, governments and society, to where most
people have an information overload, and they just shutdown, and
go on living.
On
a more personal note, I would like to declare, and openly confess,
that I believe In God, that He does exist. Not any God, not the
God Buddha, or Krishna, or Allah, but the one true God, the Only
God, the God of Moses, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The
God who sent his only son Jesus Christ to fulfil the prophesies
of old, to be born for us, to die, to be resurrected, and to ascend
to be seated at the right hand of God the Father. I believe that
Jesus Christ is the son of God, and that he has given us the choice
of salvation, and I have accepted this choice, and will, and do,
try to live according to His will. I believe that Jesus Christ
will return to this earth, as it is written in the Bible prophesies.
I believe that the Bible is the word of God, and I believe every
thing that is written in it.
There
you have it, all clear and out in the open, I quote once again,
as I have in the past, the residing Judge of the Nuremberg trials,
after presiding over the horror of the Nazi Holocaust trials,
said, “All it takes for evil to exist, is for good men everywhere,
to do nothing.” I cannot be silent, Apathetic, or indifferent
to the problems I see around me, I believe I must do what I can,
to try and make this a better place for us all, do my little bit,
set an example by my own life, talk out, write and “shout”!
All in Love, made only possible by Gods love, for only
God
is Love
