June
2010
Ahhh the old cliché "time flies" here we are
in June 2010 already and I have not updated my site for quite
a while. One of the reasons for this, is that there is so much
information input going through my brain that I almost can't keep
up. We are constantly bombarded by information, or "misinformation"
by the media, T.V., Radio, newspapers, magazines, the internet,
friends and colleges.
And what do we believe?
Or is it all just irrelevant information, and should we just get
on with our lives and forget all the "nonsense"?? We
have the first "Black President" in the U.S.A. and it
does not seem to make any difference, either to the Americans,
or to the rest of the world. There was so much sensational hype
about him,… the is oil spurting out by thousands of barrels
a day into the sea. Europeans and Americans are still being killed
in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan, thousand of people are flocking
to South Africa to watch football, where almost half of the black
population are unemployed and a great percentage of theses people
live under the poverty line, but who cares?
Today over a Billion Dollars of Cocaine was found in The Gambia
in West Africa, The republic of Gueneé has a terrible dictator,
as does the Republic of Congo, I will not get into African politics.
Here in Europe with many of the governments going "right"
or centre right.. "Have they leaned nothing", believing
that "Capitalism" is the way ahead.. We see most of
the European countries going bankrupt, Greece, with Spain, Portugal
and Italy, not far behind. Here in France we are reminded, time
after time, by our president, that there is no more money left
in coffers, and then we see our civil servants and politicians
spending millions on wasted projects or on themselves.
At the end of the day where does that leave me. How does all this
affect me, and the people that are close to me, around me, friend's,
family and colleagues? I SEE the difference with this new 'wave'
of change. In the past, before this "new world order change"
there was more of a caring, social, order of things. What I see
today is that most people are just battling, fighting, struggling,
to get through one more day. Psychologically, Physically Spiritually,
just working, making enough money to survive and live, and then
duck into their houses, protection caves, or shells. I understand
that, with all the change that is going on, most people don't
want to get involved, they just want to "live and let live"
enjoy the moment without too much effort, no opinion or commitment,
"more gain less pain" I have hundreds and hundreds of
people coming into the surf shop every year, and I see the difference.
Thing HAVE changed, the "value" of life has changed,
people used to spend more, reward themselves more, people used
to share more, they used to open up and express themselves, their
idea's and opinions, they used to spend more freely, as they feel
they worked hard, and deserved what they had, that has all changed
now. It is the little that I have, that I am grateful for, and
will spend it prudently. The language of the past is gone, words
like Generosity, Sharing, Kindness, Giving, Caring, Love, Peace,
Light. I think about the words of Jesus Christ from the bible!!
"Love you neighbour" "If a man asks you to go with
him one mile, go with him two". "Seek ye first the kingdom
of God, and his righteousness, and then all these things will
be given unto you". "Give and it will be given unto
you". "Do unto others what you would have them do unto
you" Alas those are old forgotten words and values. I believe
they are still relevant for today. Or rather, more relevant than
ever before.
I personally believe what we need these days, is More love, Kindness,
Generosity, Peace, Love and Light, more than we have ever needed.
I for one want to be more generous, less capitalistic, and less
materialistic. I was talking with some Americans the other day
and saw how important the material wealth is for them, it is the
ruler against which your life is measured, what car do you drive?
How much money do you make? What job do you do? What clothes do
you wear? What a lost empty value and way of life!!! What we need
is Revolution a deep inner revolution, people who make a stand
against corruption and injustice, against the material values
of this world, we need people who believe in caring (see "the
Good Samaritan" on this site) and the old Judeo Christian
values of the Roots of our civilization.
These
are just some thoughts that are in my head these days, I desire
to become more and more humble, less and less materialistic, and
very much more spiritual, and enlightened, I seek Truth, knowledge,
Light, Peace and love, amongst the people I live, I believe we
are living in the days of the preparation for the coming of the
Messiah, it is not long now.. Peace, light, and Love to you all
who read this.
